偉人の言葉は本当か？

先日の記事でも書いた、ヒポクラテスが言ったとされる「歩くことは人間にとって最良の薬」。やっぱりちゃんとした出典を書いてあるものがなく、英語でも検索してみました。そうしたら同じような問題提起が見つかりました。

Wikipedia英語版では今、以下のように記載されていて出典は不明とのこと。

本当に言った（書いた）のかわからない状態みたいです。本当のことが人づてに伝わっているのかもしれませんが、もしかしたら悪い人が昔の偉人の名前を借りることで説得力を増すような使い方をしたのかもしれませんね。実際に記載があるものの中にそれっぽい文章でこっそり入れられるとなかなか気付きにくいと思いました。AIにゴッホ風の絵を描かせるものもありますし、ヒポクラテス風な名言作成のAIも作れそうですね。
